If the hardware had more capabilities, maybe there'd be some new innovative boss battles that previous mm games would have loved but couldn't pull off because NES could only handle so many sprites. Hell, even the TurboGrafx 16 was technically an 8 bit system, but just with a larger color pallet due to a 16-bit graphics processor. The sega master system was technically superior. The atari 2600 was also an 8-bit 's not like the NES was even the best 8-bit system. NES games tried to do things all the time the hardware wasn't capable of but were still "8 bit" things - that's why so many games had flickering and slowdowns due to too many sprites on screen. The whole POINT of this new game is that it is done in the style of the NES games.Īnd just to be clear, the "bitness" of a system doesn't have much to do with anything.Ĭome on, "8 bit" for most people is defined by having a low resolution and limited color pallet. You're basically saying you want a Mega Man game with better graphics than the NES games. All they need to do is repeat the background or blocks out more to at least fill up the space. I'd just like to see some more innovation happening here other than what basically feels like one of the many megaman rom hack games but with different musicġ6:9 would work fine.
It'd still be nice to have some sort of modern features like online head to head megaman fights: you vs someone else kinda like street fighter but with megaman I don't enjoy interrupting the gameplay to go into the menu all the time especially just to get out something I'm just going to put back away Someamount of modern features would be nice - like programmable buttons for your utility weapons for example or a button to automatically put you back to your P weapon. I'd like something somewhat different than just another NES megaman. I've been playing megaman games since mm1 was first out, have finished all 6 of the NES games, a few of the rom hacks, all the SNES games, and a few of the other various megaman X and zero games. % of win of user-made bosses against users is compiled and compared.Ĭome on capcom, drink some cool-aid laced with LSD and be creative, dammit.ĭamn straight it's my opinion.
Best, approved bosses can be downloaded and fought by the player in an "arena". Allow online competition between user-made bosses. I love mega man and all, but I won't play 20$ for a 20 years old game with MOVING PLATFORMS.ġ- Use a state of the art, high-rez engine (derived from sf2 HD?), with 720p sprites on 3d backgroundsģ- Double dash, air dash, wall jump. I seriously hope this won't cost more than 10$.
